Today, former three term Edmonton Mayor (2004-2013) Stephen Mandel endorsed Michael Walters as the best candidate for Mayor of Edmonton in the 2025 Mayoral race.
Speaking about his confidence in Walters to serve as Mayor, Mandel said “I have had the honour of being a three-term mayor for the wonderful city of Edmonton. As a result, that's given me an understanding of the individual we're going to need to elect in the upcoming election. To me, that individual is Michael Walters.
Michael has the ability to build consensus. He's a great leader and a wonderful listener. He also has an understanding to work with our partners to deal with some of the greatest challenges we face in homelessness and housing. A business person and a former councillor, Michael has the ability to understand the challenges the city faces moving forward and work with other council colleagues to solve those problems. Michael would be a great mayor and a great leader for our city. On October 20th, vote for Michael Walters to be the next mayor for the city of Edmonton.”
