A city built for raising families acknowledges the importance of leisure for mental and physical well-being. This bodes well for us here in Edmonton as we are known as the “Festival City,” famous for our world class events from K-Days to Folk Fest to the Street Performers Festival. We have an array of opportunities for families to experience the best of our city and enjoy themselves in the process. However, the cost of these events can become prohibitive, especially for families seeking to go to more than one festival. This is why I am committed to work for a “Family Festival Pass” wherein a family can purchase a pass to a custom package of events from around the city at an affordable price. The specifics of this pass will take shape as we explore it more in-depth, but the principle behind it will remain constant: families shouldn’t have to worry about financial difficulty while enjoying themselves in our city.
