Ward 10 spans neighbourhoods west of Gateway Boulevard and north of the Anthony Henday. The Whitemud and Blackmud Creek ravines, where Michael enjoys snowshoeing with his family, form the western border of the Ward.
Travelling south through the Ward on the LRT line, one passes through a scrapbook of Edmonton’s history. The post-war neighbourhoods of Parkallen and Allendale are popular with young families and students who want to be close to the University. Farther south, the evolving streets of Pleasantview and rental-heavy Empire Park pass by on the left. To the right, are a handful of communities neighbouring the University of Alberta Farm: Lendrum Place, Grandview Heights, Lansdowne, and Malmo Plains.
Continuing past Southgate Mall, you’ll see neighbourhoods like Greenfield and Duggan, before arriving at the Century Park LRT Station. The southern neighbourhoods of the Ward, like Blue Quill and Bearspaw, are increasingly home to new Canadians and students attracted by easy access to transit and amenities.
